Two Circuit Track Lighting

Advantages and disadvantages of two circuit track lighting

Two circuit track lighting greatly increases your lighting options. You can invent different lighting schemes by using ambient lights on one circuit and task lights on the other circuit. Two circuit track lights are useful for evening lighting, or focusing light on individual artworks or furnishings while maintaining a general ambient light.

Two circuit track lighting is also common in corporate venues and art galleries. Museums and galleries in particular benefit from a combination of bright lighting on one circuit and gentler sensor-activated lights on a second circuit.

The only downside to two circuit track lighting is higher installation costs for multiple circuit wiring and separate controls. However, twin circuit track lights are cheaper than alternatives such as separate feed runs.

In short, if you like drama and variety in your lighting - and shopping for track lighting says you do - two circuit track lighting will give you the best of both.
